Breakroom
noun
- a room in a workplace that is set aside for employees to use during a break from work, as to relax, socialize, or eat.1
Have you ever watched a television program or movie featuring business practices, but they just do not quite elaborate on what is going on? Did you wish they had spent a bit more time explaining what they are talking about? Then you have come to the right place.
My goal with Breakroom Breakdown is to review some of our favorite business-themed programs and sum up the episodes. But rather than a summary of what is happening, my focus will be on the business practices. Some of what you can expect to see here will be deep dives into business terminology, conversations about office etiquette and politics, and perhaps a storyline will simply seem so interesting that I want to give my personal opinion and anecdotes from my experience. While I might have experience and education in my business topics, what I am looking forward to is the opportunity to learn new topics alongside all of you.
Now, you might be asking yourself why I decided to name my blog Breakroom Breakdown and this can be summed up by two parts. First, yes it was my husband who came up with the name so credit where credit is due. Second, this name helps explain what I want this project to represent. Breaking down business-themed topics from our favorite shows and movies as means of learning, promoting conversation, and simply trying to get out heads out of a busy work day. Which is, of course, a crucial piece of what we might view a breakroom to be.
So if this sounds interesting to all of you, why don’t you grab a snack and a beverage and meet me in the breakroom.
